BCS enterprise and solution architecture training

TOGAF training

Dear BCS E&SA professional certificates candidate,

I look forward to meeting you on this first-rate BCS enterprise and solution architecture course.

The course is broad ranging; it explains and relates the four primary domains of architecture work

It differentiates enterprise architect, solution architect and software architect roles.

The course includes both mock examinations and real examinations.

Exam results are posted to the email address you provide, a week or two after the course.

You will be given a paper manual including essential terms and concepts, with illustrations.

Please bring a mobile device to access supplementary materials at http://avancier.website.

If you cannot do this, please email us well before the course.

It is strongly recommended you set aside 60 minutes for the pre-course reading emailed to you.
Read “Before we start” - about 15minutes.

Read “Architect roles” - about 30 minutes.

Skim through the Architecture reference model text for no more than 15 minutes.

The reference model is dry; the training course content is rich.

Don’t try to memorise reference model entries.

Just skim through to get an idea of the training course scope.

Course days usually run from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm; and to 4 pm on the last day.

Please aim to get to the venue about 8.50 on the first day.

Please bring a photo id (e.g. passport, driving licence) with you.

Kind regards

Dear TOGAF certificates candidate,

I look forward to meeting you on this first-rate TOGAF course.

The course is centred on the Architecture Development Method (ADM)

This is a management framework for architecture work (more abstract than the BCS course content).

The course covers all examinable “Learning Outcomes” (and includes mock exams if pre-ordered).

The TOGAF examinations are NOT included in the course; click here for how to sit the exam afterwards.

You will be given a case study and mock examinations on paper.

Please bring a mobile device capable of reading a memory stick with other training materials on.

If you cannot do this, please email us well before the course.

It is strongly recommended you set aside 60 minutes for the pre-course work below.

Find the on-line version of the standard TOGAF text on The Open Group web site.

http://pubs.opengroup.org/architecture/togaf9-doc/arch/

Read just enough of chapters 6 to 17 in Part II to complete a table as below.

Bring your completed version of this table to the course.

ADM phase name

2 key Objectives

2 key Deliverables

Preliminary Phase

Phase A: Architecture Vision

Phase B: Business Architecture

Etc.

Finally, if you have time, read the TOGAF to ArchiMate – mapping table.

Course days usually run from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, with an early finish on the last day

Please aim to get to the venue about 8.50 on the first day.
